the museum is not as white-and-brown crisp as in the instagrams they stalked when the plan was nothing but just a joke, a ridiculous suggestion from sirius while they were not-quite-drunk-yet, one wednesday evening three years ago in sirius’s flat.

james tilts his head now as he looks up at a painting that honestly seems to have been done by a five year old. he never really understood abstracts. he feels like he could throw a bunch of paint on a canvas, tap dance on top of it, entitle it something pretty from the dictionary, and then sell it for three mansions and a vineyard. he’s tried it before. he just didn’t market it right, okay, but he’s pretty sure it would have worked.
anyway - this isn’t what they’re stealing. it’s something far less abstract, something much more… definite. construable. unquestionably valuable. you know? an extremely rare 2-carat red diamond recently donated to the museum by the black family, whose acquisition of it is, well, as with their acquisition with the rest of their assets really, questionable at best. (unimaginable at worst, james supposes. the rest of the world supposes. even their own damn sons.)
kind of gay for women to wear button-up blouses/shirts. why are you wearing a shirt with buttons on it? to have your buttons loosened by another woman’s tender hands?

I think the fast paced society we live in currently has brainwashed me into thinking i can upgrade myself and my life just as fast as when i restart my computer or phone. I have forgotten the natural cycles of life… how the moon takes her time to be full or how the crops take their time to grow their fruits.
